Rinse, repeat, recycle: Another former NBA player spewed a hot take about a modern-day star.
Former NBA All-Star Rasheed Wallace appeared on “The Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast and went right after LeBron James — the latest battle between former and active players, who supposedly wouldn’t survive in their respective eras.
“He probably would’ve held his own, but I don’t think he would be as successful as he is now,” Wallace said on the podcast. “It’s a whole different era back then.”
First things first: Different era? They played in the same era!
In fact, LeBron posterized Wallace in the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals. In Game 5, James scored 25 straight points against “Sheed” in the fourth quarter. The Cavaliers took down the Pistons in Game 6 en route to James’ first Finals appearance.
It’s hard to even dispute this when the two played in the Association together for 10 years, but perhaps some of the “older” talking heads should check out this study.
Have we had enough? Good. Great. LeBron doesn’t need any more motivation, apparently.
